Learning outside the classroom
At Great Heights Primary and Nursery School, we believe in the importance of experimental learning and providing students with the opportunity for hands-on exploration and cultural enrichment. We organize educational tours to various destinations across Uganda, offering students a chance to discover the rich heritage, natural wonders and diverse cultural experiences within our country.
Tour destinations:
1.Kampala: Students explore Uganda's capital city, Kampala, visiting historical landmarks, cultural sites, museums and markets. They learn about the country's history, traditions and modern urban life.
2.Entebbe: A visit to Entebbe offers opportunity to explore Uganda's wildlife conservation efforts at Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC), discover the beautiful Botanical gardens, and learn about the country's aviation history at Entebbe airport.
3.Jinja: Known as the adventure capital of East Africa, Jinja offers exciting activities such as visiting the source of the Nile River, experiencing thrilling water rafting, exploring local crafts and learning about the region's significance in the Uganda's history.
4.Eastern Uganda: Students have a chance to explore the beauty of Eastern Uganda, including the visit to the Mount Elgon National Park, Sipi falls, and experiencing the cultural richness of Bagisu and Sabiny tribes.
5.Western Uganda: Tours to western Uganda provide students with the opportunity to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park, experience the stunning landscapes of Rwenzori Mountains, encounter wildlife and learn about the cultures of Banyankole, Bakiga and other ethic groups.
